Biblical Story: Gideon and the 300
Scriptural Reference: Judges 7

Lesson Overview: God used Gideon and only 300 men to get the victory over another nation. Instead of focusing on numbers God chose the few who were the most prepared for battle.

Biblical Story: The poor widow
Scriptural Reference: 2 Kings 4:1-7

Lesson Overview: She was poor and her sons in danger of being sold into slavery but God used the little she had to sustain her and save her family.

Biblical Story: Jesus feeds the 5,000
Scriptural Reference: Luke 9:10-17
Theme Scripture: Luke 9:17 “They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.”
Lesson Overview: They had 2 fish and 5 loaves yet Jesus multiplied it to feed the multitude.

DAY 5: Friday, July 1
Biblical Story: Disciple's big catch
Scriptural Reference: Luke 5:1-7
Theme Scripture: Luke 5:4-6 “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch. Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets. When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.”
Lesson Overview: The men fished hard all night and caught nothing but after following Jesus' direction they caught more than ever. In awe they left their old life behind and became Christ’s disciples.
Lesson Takeaway: Obedience to God leads to more than enough.
